The staff at this department store are truly wonderful - thoughtful, kind, and always friendly. The service they provide is consistently quick and efficient.

I must highlight two members of the team who really stood out to me during my recent visit. Both of them work at the customer service desk. Just last week, I needed to return a toilet seat due to an online order mix-up in terms of color. Karen, who was assisting me with the exchange, took the time to understand that I had recently undergone back surgery and suggested a padded toilet seat as a more comfortable alternative to the hard plastic one. It turned out to be a perfect suggestion, and surprisingly, it was also less expensive!

Then there was Michelle. I was having trouble accessing the locker for my click-and-collect order when she came out of the restroom and saw me struggling. Not only did she help me retrieve the first item, but when I couldn't locate the pickup email on my phone for the second item, she went above and beyond to ensure I received my purchase.

And it's not just them – every member of the staff embodies that same level of care and dedication!

A big thank you to the Department store team!

I must say, the lass at the checkout counter was absolutely splendid and ever so charming, which isn't always the norm at this particular CT establishment. She truly deserves a raise!

I couldn't find anyone to assist me, just like every other Canadian Tire store I've visited. Always let down by the lack of customer support. Not sure why I bothered again. I phoned, they took my details, and still haven't received a callback. Go figure!
Arthur Thompson (2025-06-26, 11:59 p.m.):
I had an unfortunate experience at the return counter with Jennifer. She was quite unpleasant, discussing my husband and I with another employee while we were looking for a replacement product. My father-in-law overheard her suggesting that we had misused the defective product. Her disrespect was unwarranted, especially since she was not present when we were using the product. Thankfully, my father-in-law stepped in and helped us secure a store credit.

What a jolly good store this is! Everything is so tidy and spick-and-span. The customer service is absolutely top-notch - truly splendid. It's ever so rare to come across such outstanding service in the city. And let me tell you, the Boxing Day sales were an absolute delight.

Bancroft Canadian Tire offers an extensive range of products perfect for cottage living in the Country. They consistently replenish their shelves with a wide variety of items. I particularly enjoy their holiday-themed displays. Although Bancroft is a small town, I have encountered a few instances where a staff member was rude – amusingly, it was the same individual each time, despite me being a local. Despite this minor issue, I still rate them 5 stars. I have visited several other Canadian Tire stores, and this one is by far the best.
Christopher Evans (2025-06-15, 12:56 p.m.):
This department store, I tell you, is an absolute disaster when it comes to customer service, cleanliness, product availability, transparency in policies, product expertise, manners, tidiness AND accountability by the owners! It's a complete laugh.
Every single employee there seriously needs some training on how to interact with people.
I won't be advising anyone to shop here, not in a million years.
Absolutely terrible experience. (-1 out of 5 stars.)
Janet Reyes (2025-06-15, 7:56 a.m.):
I popped in to pick up a few cleaning supplies once the lockdown lifted. The queues were flowing smoothly, and the person at the door gave me a warm welcome. I couldn't catch her name, but there's this employee on the shop floor who is absolutely amazing. Always so cheerful, positive, and eager to assist. I've described things to her in the most peculiar ways, and yet she knew exactly what I was looking for and even offered tips for the task at hand. If I come to know her name, I'll be sure to update my feedback because she truly deserves recognition. I reckon she works in or around the hardware department.

Although I fully understand that these are challenging times and that the staff may be feeling tired and stressed, it's important to remember that customers are also doing their best to navigate this new reality. Entering a store now feels unfamiliar and daunting, completely different from our usual routine. While the store layout and procedures may be second nature to the staff, for those of us who have been home for two months or more (for everyone's safety, including our own), it's all new territory.

During my visit, all the customers I encountered were diligent about maintaining social distancing, offering help to each other as we navigated through the store (especially in those tricky areas that seemed to lead us in circles...we shared a few chuckles) and displaying kindness. I only wish I could say the same for ALL the STAFF, as some were quite rude and made the experience even more uncomfortable and intimidating. Did I perhaps make mistakes in my anxious state? It's possible, but I was trying to move quickly to allow others to flow through the store smoothly. I ended up coming home with only 50% of what I needed. We're all in this together, each with our own challenges and anxieties. Rudeness and intimidation are never the answer.

I'll try to chalk it up to a coincidence that each staff member was simply having a rough day. The cashier was the final straw, providing no verbal guidance on how or where to proceed and making me feel incredibly unwelcome. Come on, people, we can do better than this.
Steven Collins (2025-06-11, 4:56 a.m.):
This department store is absolutely smashing! The cashiers are always so welcoming and jolly. If you're on the lookout for something in particular, you can count on finding a helpful worker to lend a hand. Can't wait for this bloomin' COVID-19 business to be over so we can freely roam the aisles once more. And how splendid that they offer Curb Side Pick Up as well! ☎️
Juan Walker (2025-06-10, 9:39 p.m.):
Just the other week as I was cruising through the neighbourhood, my tyre sprung a pin hole leak. Lucky for me, Canadian Tire was open and I had a chat with Fred in the Auto Department who sorted me out straight away. They fixed up the issue in a jiffy and had me back on the road. Big thanks to Fred and the crew for their top-notch service!
Lisa Perry (2025-06-09, 5:34 p.m.):
The self checkout machine informed me that I required help from a cashier. When I approached the cashier for assistance, she instructed me to queue up again despite having already waited in line to use the self checkout machine. I had to escalate the situation in order to receive help from another cashier. I typically have positive experiences at this establishment and am a frequent shopper here, but the customer service fell short today.
Dennis Foster (2025-06-09, 1:24 p.m.):
I was at the end of an aisle with my trolley in a department store. There was an employee with a trolley blocking my way. I waited patiently until she asked if she could help. I politely informed her that I would like to browse down the next aisle. If glares could kill, I would have been sprawled on the floor! My only option would have been to turn my trolley around and navigate it back down the aisle and around. She simply had to move her trolley a mere 4 feet! I am 61 years old and had spent $415 in this store! Moving forward, I will opt to visit Minden, which is at an equal distance.
Aaron Rogers (2025-06-09, 11:36 a.m.):
We popped in right before closing time (apologies for the timing!) in search of some equipment to bolster our camping gear on a wet and dreary day. The staff was incredibly helpful, offering fantastic suggestions and thinking creatively to assist us, going above and beyond by directing us to where we could find an item not carried by CT. A big thank you to Canadian Tire Bancroft. I truly felt taken care of, like I was in reliable hands, and overall, it was a quintessentially Canadian experience.
Leonard Williams (2025-06-09, 3:53 a.m.):
The nearest Canadian Tire store from Huntsville for those on the South East Side (East Gate) of Algonquin Park is a convenient option. While it may not be a "mega" store, it offers a wide selection of products to fulfill your needs. Residents in the vicinity can also place orders for easy pickup at this location.

The staff members are known for their politeness and are generally helpful, possessing the expected knowledge base for a typical Canadian Tire store.
Steven Kim (2025-06-06, 2:44 p.m.):
Absolutely terrible experience at the department store in Bancroft. I dashed in right before closing time to grab some wood pellets, along with other customers who were also present, but they refused to let us inside. Shocking lack of customer service.
Timothy Hayes (2025-06-04, 2:48 p.m.):
The selection is brilliant and the hours are just perfect for a cozy cottage country shopping trip. Plenty of parking available and conveniently located near other major stores. I always enjoy browsing at CT! The prices are spot on and there are always fantastic sales happening.
Walter Hernandez (2025-06-04, 10:33 a.m.):
My papa used to shop at Canadian Tire, and I've kept up the tradition. It's a fantastic store and a true Canadian gem. I just adore it. My kinfolk even jests that it's my top store of choice.
Doris Thompson (2025-06-03, 2:35 a.m.):
Regrettably, the company seems to be on a downward spiral in terms of service and helpfulness of its staff. Having a vast array of products in stock is of little use if the employees are not actively assisting customers with their needs. It appears that many members of the staff are not content in their roles.
Jean Gomez (2025-06-01, 6:14 p.m.):
The helpful staff at Canadian Tire always come through for me, eh? They usually have exactly what I'm looking for, and I can zip in and out of there in no time. Bonus points for earning Triangle Dollars and signing up for the optional Triangle "Select" Program, eh? That way, I get 20 times the CT Money on select store brand purchases. Cheers to a great shopping experience at Canadian Tire!
