There always seems to be a long queue at the post office when I go to collect my mail. It's a real challenge with young children in tow. On top of that, I've visited countless times and on one occasion, despite having a photo ID, the lady refused to hand over my parcel without it. It can be so frustrating to retrieve my mail here. I'd much prefer if they implemented a community mailbox system so that I wouldn't have to make these frequent trips.

I'm not sure if it's a lack of customer appreciation or if the employees here are just overstressed. The service is consistently unfriendly. It seems like they don't want to deviate from their usual routine.
They don't offer any assistance until it's too late. They sell you an envelope without asking any questions about it. Then, when you try to use it, they act like you should have known it wasn't right for your needs. They make you feel like you made a mistake by not saying anything upfront.
This is where Canada Post falls short.
They need staff with strong interpersonal skills, who are friendly towards customers and each other. Alternatively, these ladies need to recognize that they are providing extremely poor service and adjust their attitudes at work.
If you're not happy in your job, it might be time to look for something else.

However, when I tried it at the Blackfalds post office, things took a turn. The ladies behind the counter scanned my QR code, then insisted that I needed to pay for shipping. I explained that I had already paid online and just needed the label printed. I even showed them my email receipt with the QR code. I mentioned that I had done this routine at other Canada Post locations without any issues. But the worker just shrugged and said, "I don't know what to tell you." Instead of paying twice for the shipping I had already covered, I ended up driving back to Red Deer to another Canada Post, where they processed my QR code, printed my label, and affixed it to my package swiftly and smoothly.
I'd strongly recommend folks to steer clear of the Blackfalds Canada Post branch to avoid any potential hiccups. If I hadn't stuck to my guns, I would have ended up paying twice for my parcel's shipping. It makes me wonder how many other customers they've pulled this stunt on, and where all that extra cash is going.
