PJC Jean Coutu in Bois-des-Filion, Quebec: A Pharmacy Review
PJC Jean Coutu is a well-known pharmacy located in Bois-des-Filion, Quebec, offering various services and products to the community. While the pharmacy aims to provide essential healthcare products and services, customer reviews suggest there are several areas needing improvement.
Customer Experience Issues
Many customers have reported long wait times at PJC Jean Coutu, even when prescriptions are ordered in advance. For instance, one customer mentioned waiting over an hour with their 10-month-old baby for a prescription that should have been ready. Such delays are concerning, particularly for those who rely on timely medication.
Moreover, issues have arisen regarding inaccurate information about store hours. Customers expressed frustration upon arriving late in the evening only to find the pharmacy closed earlier than advertised. This inconsistency can create unnecessary inconveniences for those needing urgent medications.
In-Store Services
PJC Jean Coutu provides various service options, including in-store shopping and the convenience of in-store pick-up for online orders. However, despite these offerings, many customers have found the execution lacking. Delivery services are also available but have received mixed feedback regarding timeliness and reliability.
For those requiring passport photos, the pharmacy offers this service, although experiences have varied from satisfactory to disappointing. One customer reported receiving unsatisfactory passport photos and faced challenges while seeking a refund.
Accessibility Features
The pharmacy does offer a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, ensuring it is open to all individuals. Despite the physical accessibility, the customer service experience appears to hinder the overall visit, as many patrons reported feeling neglected or unvalued during their time at the pharmacy.
Payment Options
PJC Jean Coutu accommodates various payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. However, some customers have noted discrepancies in billing, such as being charged for medications that were not correctly processed, leading to further dissatisfaction.
Conclusion
While PJC Jean Coutu in Bois-des-Filion has the potential to be a reliable pharmacy, the overwhelming feedback suggests a need for improvement in planning, staffing, and overall customer service. Many loyal customers express their desire for a better experience, highlighting the necessity for management to address these long-standing issues effectively. As it stands, patrons may want to consider alternative pharmacies if they seek prompt and efficient pharmaceutical care.

After my trip to South Africa, I found myself having to deal with an African tick on my person. Struggling to reach my doctor, I reached out to 811 for assistance, and they directed me to my local pharmacist.
I visited the pharmacist at the BDF branch on the morning of Friday, December 9. They promptly referred me to the McGill Tropical Medicine Center at the Glenn site and provided me with the necessary contact information.
Shortly after, I received a call from the experts at the Glenn site, who scheduled an appointment for me the following day. My family doctor was impressed by how efficiently the pharmacist had guided me to the appropriate care. Many thanks to them!

This pharmacy is absolutely dreadful. No one picks up the phone, making it impossible to get my prescription filled without enduring painfully long wait times. I've had enough of this nonsense and will be taking my business elsewhere. It's infuriating to hear the staff chatting away about their weekend escapades while ignoring their responsibilities.
Nathan Martin (2025-07-15, 8:35 p.m.):
Upon entering the shop, I found the cosmetics attendant to be quite unapproachable. I am considering returning to the Jean Coutu in Ste-Thérèse. The level of customer service left me feeling somewhat disheartened 😕 …
Emily Richardson (2025-07-14, 8:43 a.m.):
The pharmacy counter closed for lunch hours on a Saturday with no one to cover? Things are escalating at this PJC. I can't post a new comment so I'll just add to this one. The service at the prescription counter is truly abysmal, between the wait times and the confusion with my medications. Strangely, they never seem to receive prescriptions from my doctor. They claim it will be ready in the morning but it's not available until 4:45 pm! It's like this happens 3 out of 4 times, unbelievable!
Karen Flores (2025-07-12, 12:50 p.m.):
I must say I had a rather disappointing experience at this pharmacy. Numerous inaccuracies in pharmacology, dosages, and insurance coverage for procedures such as x-rays were noted. The advice given was incorrect, and the wait times were excessively long, often stretching to an hour or more just to receive medications or any kind of assistance. Furthermore, there were instances where certain medications were claimed to be unavailable with the suggestion to return at a later time. The staff appeared to lack knowledge and provided nonsensical responses to customer queries.
Based on my experience, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this pharmacy to anyone.
Mark Smith (2025-07-09, 7:37 p.m.):
I already moved my prescription to a different pharmacy a year ago due to frequent mistakes and consistently long wait times. After experiencing such poor customer service and disrespectful staff at this PJC, I have made the decision to never return.
Hannah Jones (2025-07-06, 9:07 a.m.):
The endless wait is simply unbearable, with 15 individuals behind the counter seemingly going round in circles. The staff appears to be completely ineffective, displaying a high level of incompetence. This is unquestionably the most dreadful PHARMACY EXPERIENCE one could ever encounter.
Andrea Thomas (2025-07-05, 3:53 a.m.):
I must say, I was quite disappointed with the level of service provided at the pharmacy. The staff at the lab appeared to be rather disoriented and not very friendly. Furthermore, there were errors in my prescription refills, which was quite concerning. Overall, my experience at this pharmacy was far from satisfactory and I would not recommend it.
Vincent Lopez (2025-07-04, 4:30 p.m.):
Update: I've bumped up my rating from 1 to 3. It looks like things might be on the upswing. The past couple of times I've picked up my prescriptions at the pharmacy have been a considerable improvement. I'll check back in a few months, fingers crossed for a solid 5-star upgrade.
I've been a loyal patron of this pharmacy for about fifteen years now, but there's no denying that the quality of service has been on the decline. There have been frequent mistakes, overwhelmed staff, and most frustratingly, receiving a text message saying your prescription is ready is more of a shot in the dark. Be prepared for a potentially lengthy wait when you visit...
Charles Hall (2025-07-03, 12:20 a.m.):
Terrible experience trying to get a prescription filled at this pharmacy. Despite being the first in line on the phone at 9:15 am, it was impossible to get through to anyone. After waiting for 30 minutes, there was still no response - apparently, all the staff were busy. The process is always so complicated and doesn't seem to improve.
Daniel Patterson (2025-07-02, 5:49 p.m.):
Whether you place your order ahead of time or not, you still have to wait behind the folks who just walk in. What's the deal with that?
It's always a lengthy wait, with only one person manning the medication pickup counter, completely nullifying the benefit of pre-ordering. It seems like it's only making things easier for the staff, without any consideration for the customer.
Debra Russell (2025-07-02, 10:50 a.m.):
These jeans are an absolute disaster, mate. The staff working there are a right rude bunch, with no skills to show for it. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a bunch of ladies eyeing up the watches in the shop, completely ignoring the poor blokes at the counter. And don't even get me started on the young ones turning up to work looking like they've been rolling around in the mud with bruises on their necks. Utterly disgusting, if you ask me.
Eric Martinez (2025-07-02, 12:20 a.m.):
Beauty store employees engaged in lively conversations about their classes and instructors. No greeting, I stood just one meter away from them, yet no offer of assistance was made as if I didn't even exist. I realize that part-time students may be working on weekends, but it would be appreciated if they could prioritize their duties.
Barbara Smith (2025-07-01, 2:31 a.m.):
Pharmacy service is a bit disorganized. Took over 3 days to receive my prescription. Not great service in person either.
Andrew Rodriguez (2025-06-30, 3:29 a.m.):
I must say, I was absolutely appalled by the service I received at Jean Coutu. I popped into the Bois des Filions store on Saturday October 22 at around 5:30 p.m., just before closing time at 6 p.m. Imagine my surprise when the pharmacist abruptly halted consultations! Despite my urgent need for advice, they flat out declined to assist me further. Such callous and unprofessional conduct should not be tolerated by Jean Coutu. I consider it a flagrant display of negligence and insensitivity.
Christina Richardson (2025-06-29, 6:33 a.m.):
I recently moved my prescriptions to a different pharmacy. The customer service is rather lacking, I must say. The wait times are excessive, and there's a noticeable lack of follow-up when a prescription is supposed to be sent over by a physician. It appears that I'm not the only one who has noticed this issue.
Ella Davis (2025-06-28, 1:39 p.m.):
I must say, the pharmacy is quite subpar. The waiting times are simply dreadful and the amount of errors is truly shocking.
Evelyn Ramos (2025-06-22, 8:12 a.m.):
The service provided is truly subpar. They fail to process or even misplace prescriptions sent by your physician (my doctor has verified that he sent my prescription). After resolving this issue, I observed that it takes them over 24 hours to fulfill a basic order. The staff is ultimately incompetent and incredibly impolite. There is a complete lack of customer service. My advice would be to steer clear and avoid at all costs. Unprecedented incompetence.
Willie Patterson (2025-06-20, 3:42 p.m.):
The service at this pharmacy is really hit or miss. On some occasions, it's exceptional, while on others, it leaves us scratching our heads. Despite ordering our medications by phone, they're often not ready at the designated time, leading to long waits in line alongside customers dropping off prescriptions in person.
Today, as I patiently waited my turn, the cashier seemed to prioritize someone she knew, bypassing me in the queue. I found this behavior unacceptable and, when I brought it up, she persisted in serving the other customer, instructing me to wait for another cashier. The inconsistency in service here is truly frustrating.
Peter Thomas (2025-06-20, 1:02 p.m.):
I had a terribly disappointing experience with the customer service at this pharmacy.
