PJC Jean Coutu in Bois-des-Filion, Quebec: A Pharmacy Review
PJC Jean Coutu is a well-known pharmacy located in Bois-des-Filion, Quebec, offering various services and products to the community. While the pharmacy aims to provide essential healthcare products and services, customer reviews suggest there are several areas needing improvement.
Customer Experience Issues
Many customers have reported long wait times at PJC Jean Coutu, even when prescriptions are ordered in advance. For instance, one customer mentioned waiting over an hour with their 10-month-old baby for a prescription that should have been ready. Such delays are concerning, particularly for those who rely on timely medication.
Moreover, issues have arisen regarding inaccurate information about store hours. Customers expressed frustration upon arriving late in the evening only to find the pharmacy closed earlier than advertised. This inconsistency can create unnecessary inconveniences for those needing urgent medications.
In-Store Services
PJC Jean Coutu provides various service options, including in-store shopping and the convenience of in-store pick-up for online orders. However, despite these offerings, many customers have found the execution lacking. Delivery services are also available but have received mixed feedback regarding timeliness and reliability.
For those requiring passport photos, the pharmacy offers this service, although experiences have varied from satisfactory to disappointing. One customer reported receiving unsatisfactory passport photos and faced challenges while seeking a refund.
Accessibility Features
The pharmacy does offer a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, ensuring it is open to all individuals. Despite the physical accessibility, the customer service experience appears to hinder the overall visit, as many patrons reported feeling neglected or unvalued during their time at the pharmacy.
Payment Options
PJC Jean Coutu accommodates various payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. However, some customers have noted discrepancies in billing, such as being charged for medications that were not correctly processed, leading to further dissatisfaction.
Conclusion
While PJC Jean Coutu in Bois-des-Filion has the potential to be a reliable pharmacy, the overwhelming feedback suggests a need for improvement in planning, staffing, and overall customer service. Many loyal customers express their desire for a better experience, highlighting the necessity for management to address these long-standing issues effectively. As it stands, patrons may want to consider alternative pharmacies if they seek prompt and efficient pharmaceutical care.

This here pharmacy could sure use some improvement in their service. I reckon I won't be moseying on back there, that's for certain.

Excellent pharmacists, always cheerful! While they may be occupied with filling prescriptions and there might be a bit of a wait, simply pop back in later or the following day.
John Gonzalez (2025-09-02, 4:02 a.m.):
The service at the pharmacy is taking forever. I've been there 3 times now and each time I've had to wait for at least 30 minutes, I've never experienced that before. I've decided to go somewhere else to pick up my prescriptions from now on.
Amy Butler (2025-09-01, 5:47 a.m.):
Absolutely dreadful management when it comes to the distribution of rapid COVID-19 screening tests! Despite being a long-time customer at this particular branch, and even being at risk, the pharmacy shows no regard for its customers whatsoever!!!! I've been directed to their website for a week now, only to be told today that the site has never actually functioned properly, so it's a free-for-all with no assurances.... Essentially, a pharmacy in Laval that isn't a Jean-Coutu was attentive and generous enough to provide us with a box. And no, my child's school didn't offer any! Not good at all! Extremely disappointing to not be able to rely on them 👎🏼
Raymond Ortiz (2025-08-29, 10:34 a.m.):
I have never encountered pharmacy service like this before. 24-hour availability for repeat prescriptions. I absolutely detest having to go to the pharmacy.
Riley Graham (2025-08-29, 4:52 a.m.):
The wait for my prescriptions, even when they're already prepared, seems to drag on forever. I definitely prefer the Terrebonne Ouest location where the service is much quicker!
Susan Jenkins (2025-08-27, 7:23 a.m.):
I'm not certain if they provide unique services that other Jean Coutus don't, which could account for the prolonged wait, but even with no patrons, this Jean Coutu is at least twenty times slower than the rest. It truly tries one's patience every visit to this unfortunate location.
On a brighter note, the employees are quite amiable.
Melissa Green (2025-08-24, 3:04 p.m.):
This pharmacy is the absolute pits… I've never come across such dreadful service, but what really gets my goat is the lack of organization... not ideal when it comes to handling medication.
Judy Watson (2025-08-21, 1:46 p.m.):
Efficient and quick service, the staff are extremely friendly and SKILLED, we get a text when our prescriptions are ready. I asked for information on a medication and within 1 hour I received a call back from the pharmacist with the details!! Previously, with my old pharmacist, it would take 1 full week.. I am really pleased with the service. Thank you all for your professional care!
Victoria Flores (2025-08-18, 9:27 p.m.):
Oftentimes, errors occur and prescriptions from the doctor get lost in transit. Regrettably, the pharmacy department seems to be constantly reshuffling like a deck of cards. While the service was once impeccable in the past, it has now become lackluster, leading me to not recommend this establishment.
Philip Hall (2025-08-17, 9:34 p.m.):
I must say, this pharmacy is truly the worst in the entire region. The service is abysmal, to say the least. They always seem to be out of stock of essential medications, and when they do eventually get them, it takes an eternity to receive them.
Nicole Adams (2025-08-16, 9:42 p.m.):
I had a rather slow experience at this pharmacy, taking 45 minutes to obtain two ointments, including one that had fallen onto the floor. To add to the frustration, when I returned to collect my change, the cashier mistakenly overcharged me by $10. The manager's response was less than satisfactory, informing me that the original cashier had left and their register was now off balance. They promised to follow up the next day but failed to do so.
The lack of urgency, professionalism, and customer care displayed at this pharmacy is truly disheartening. I echo the sentiments expressed in other reviews, and I can attest to the dire service provided. Even giving it a single star feels too generous. It's clear that this establishment has much room for improvement in terms of service and cleanliness.
Alice Bennett (2025-08-15, 2:32 p.m.):
I must say, the service provided at this pharmacy is rather lacking. I've noticed numerous mistakes in the pharmacology, dosages, and insurance handling. The wait times are excessively long, often reaching 45 minutes to an hour or even more, both in-store and after calling ahead for medication pick-up. To make matters worse, it seems the young staff members spend more time laughing, chatting, and admiring each other's hairstyles, all while casually strolling about in "belly" T-shirts behind the counter.
Ava Diaz (2025-08-14, 7:26 p.m.):
Misdealing, I say! It ain't right to be kept waiting over 30 minutes for a prescription of Tylenol and Advil, already packaged and ready by the doctor. What's more, folks who arrived after me got served before me! When I mentioned this to the cashier, she just shrugged and said "OK."
Allison Myers (2025-08-14, 4:30 a.m.):
I was in need of an antibiotic for my infant (prescription sent directly by doctor) and I made multiple attempts to reach out to them with no luck - no call back, no response. I had to wait until the following day because I was certain they had closed early as I had observed in the past...
Finally, I received the antibiotic which had been prepared the day before and left outside of refrigeration!! And to top it off, I was charged incorrectly.
Goodness me!!! Who prepares medication without consulting the patient and dispenses medicine unsuitable for an ill child??
Take caution if it's your chosen pharmacy... in any case, it's no longer mine!!
Emma Phillips (2025-08-11, 2:37 p.m.):
Overall, the service is quite good, but the prescription counter is consistently busy. It's important to plan ahead to avoid long waits. Fortunately, it's easy to speak with the pharmacist and the advice provided is reliable.
Tyler Edwards (2025-08-07, 11:06 p.m.):
I must say, the wait times on the phone for the pharmacy counter are truly excessive! It's quite frustrating to be the 3rd person in line, only to suddenly be bumped back to 4th place. And let's not forget when you try to bring this issue to the manager's attention at post 7, you either get put back on hold or completely ignored. It's just not on, if you ask me.
Grace Mitchell (2025-08-06, 2:36 a.m.):
I must say, the service at this Jean-Coutu is becoming increasingly subpar! The individuals manning the prescription counter seem to lack empathy for their customers. It appears they are oblivious to the fact that the individuals on the other side are worried customers in need of medication. After reading the various comments below, it's evident that I am not the only one feeling this way. What a disappointment.
Ruth Cook (2025-08-04, 5:01 a.m.):
Polite service and attentive staff. Neat and well-organized premises.
Stephen Barnes (2025-07-30, 2:47 a.m.):
I must say, my experience with this pharmacy has been utterly disappointing. Just recently, I placed an order for delivery online only to discover that my private insurance was not being accounted for. To top it off, they didn't even bother to inform me that my insurance had expired and request updated information. Instead, I had to reach out myself and was informed that I would have to physically visit the branch to provide the new insurance details. Really? It's as simple as updating a few fields on their computer system, yet they couldn't be bothered to do so. The service here is truly lacking, from the prolonged wait times at the counter to receive a single medication to the inefficiencies in processing insurance information. I had hoped that opting for delivery would alleviate these frustrations, but it seems to have only compounded them.
