This VERY rude Asian gentleman, who I reckon may be the manager, gave me such a horrid attitude just because I happened to show up 10 minutes before closing time. It felt as though he was on the verge of giving me a proper scolding. To add a touch of drama to the tale, he actually remained standing there, watching me complete my purchase with intense eye contact (quite unnerving). As soon as I headed towards the exit, he finally departed. It felt like a scene from a scary movie. With plenty of other customers around, why did he choose to single me out?! The store itself is just about okay.

Similar to Canada, this department store is massive and sparsely populated with friendly, helpful staff. It's wonderful if you happen to randomly encounter one. However, most of the time is spent searching for items like plastic spoons hidden in aisles that the cheery employees vaguely mention as being close to "the chemicals." Luckily, we finally found an employee who could direct us to the right aisle, or we might still be wandering lost in the store's vast northern territories.

I am absolutely livid, my missus is unwell and needs to jet off abroad to visit her kin, we needed to renew our passports in a jiffy, popped into our local Walmart to snap our mugshots. Blimey, words can't convey how I'm feeling, not only was the service shocking, we were told to "hurry up and just pick a picture, I have customers waiting." Hold on a minute, aren't I a paying customer? And to top it off, I was stung for $91.50!!! for 3 passport snaps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These same 3 photos cost $7.99 plus tax at Costco!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for a grand total of $27.09!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How on earth can Walmart Canada justify slapping on a $64.41 mark-up for the same 3 pictures?????? This is daylight robbery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is hands down the worst Walmart has ever made me feel!!!!!!! Take heed of Walmart.

This store is a bit rubbish, if you ask me. It's always a mess, they never have what you need in stock, and the staff, if they can speak English at all, aren't very knowledgeable or helpful. Comparing this Walmart to the ones in the States, it's like night and day. If you have the choice, I'd recommend going somewhere else. Otherwise, you'll likely end up disappointed with this grimy, badly run shop. This review is specifically for the Bathurst and Centre street location in Thornhill, Vaughan, Ontario. Cheers!

This place is hopeless. When you ask any staff for something, they act like programmed robots. The response is always, "Whatever is there, that's all we have." They don't even bother to make an effort to see what the customer is looking for. Has the management stopped training staff in customer service? Or do they simply not care??!!

I emerse you in dese good words from t' heart, yer ought to be investin' in sensitivity trainin' fer yer employees. When customers are treated poorly (or extremely well), they will tell everyone they know about it. That's exact what I'm doin' right now. If ya take proper action, I might change me ratin'. Until then, this is what yer get.
I 'ad a 'orrible experience at yer store today. T' cashier was wonderful, but it just takes one experience with a rude employee to leave a bitter taste in ya mouth.
After we were done shoppin', me husband and I were gettin' ready to leave. He needed to use t' washroom. I drove t' motorised cart close to t' entrance/exit area, waitin'. We 'ad purchased home related items (bedsheets, etc.). So, I waved t' receipt to t' employee standin' at t' front entrance area, before I put me receipt inside t' packaging of one of t' items.
I stood up to just put me phone (with me credit card) into me pocket. Next thin' I know, this other employee (elderly white male) is eyein' me legs, as if ambulatory wheelchair users don't exist.
He then approaches me and asks me if I need t' cart. I say "yes, of course". He prods me with the same question repeatedly, and now I'm findin' meself 'avin' to explain me physical issues (which is really none of 'is business).
He then proceeds with "you'll know what it's really like when you're me age" and then goes on and on about all t' surgeries 'e's 'ad. It's unfortunate that 'e's 'ad several surgeries, but that is no excuse to antagonise me when I am just tryin' to shop and leave.
He then asks to see me receipt. I pull it out of t' packaging I tucked it into and 'e goes over every item line by line. Again, this would make sense if 'e was doin' this for all customers, but nope. Just me, AFTER givin' me grief for usin' t' motorised cart that is there for people like me who need it to shop. When me husband (white able-bodied male) arrived, 'is tone changes, but 'e still goes on and on, and follows us for a bit, as we are tryin' to leave. We just ended the conversation and left as quickly as possible.
In t' past, I 'ave been rudely asked if I need t' motorised cart (which I absolutely do), and it is annoyin', but they don't normally keep botherin' me with it. It's a minor annoyance. What happened today was well beyond that. It was ableist, racist, sexist and ageist, especially when 'e started followin' us and sayin' that 'is friend with arthritis works on a computer all day. Cool, I also 'ave arthritis and work on a computer all day. Just because I'm a disabled woman of colour doesn't mean that I am lazy or 'ave no career.
Train yer employees to not harass disabled POC customers at yer stores. That kinda behaviour is unacceptable.

Lacking stock all the time, the shop is a bit messy compared to the bigger and better-stocked Walmarts in the vicinity. The customer service team for returns and exchanges can be quite strict, almost robotic, and less understanding than other stores.

I was there after 10pm on Wednesday. There must have been 30 people waiting in the self-checkout lane with 5 staff members assisting, but not a single regular cash register was open. There were a few customers with full carts struggling to ring in their items, and one customer with a sling on his arm had trouble using the self-checkout. Absolutely ludicrous. I don't mind the self-checkout lanes, but it would be ideal to have at least one regular lane open. I won't be coming back.

Just like every Walmart, this store ensures their shelves are well-stocked and organized, and the cleanliness is top-notch. However, I do find myself getting a bit confused by the signs in each aisle, which I hope they will make more user-friendly in the future. Apart from that, the customer service is excellent!

I was quite chuffed with their top-notch array of fresh fruits and vegetables. I must say it's been donkey's years since I last visited a Wal-Mart. Not too keen on the layout of the store, as items are a tad difficult to locate. The clearance section left a bit to be desired as none of the items had prices and needed to be scanned. They even had a McDonald's joint inside, which comes in handy post-shopping. A jolly good spot for shopping with generally fair prices.

In the year 2020, as I glance back at this review, it appears that Google or Walmart has mysteriously transported this review to a different Walmart location. My initial feedback was meant for the Walmart Supercentre situated at 700 Centre St in Thornhill, Ontario. Instead, by some strange twist of fate, my words have now been relocated to a Walmart in Nova Scotia. One wonders if this maneuver is Walmart or Google's method of evening out the negative reviews for certain stores with higher ratings, so that none suffer too severely. It all seems rather dubious.
Before compelling all customers to utilize the self-service checkout machines, it would be wise to ensure these devices are thoroughly tested to avoid the myriad issues and shortcomings that consumers encounter. The user interface is simply dreadful, and the motion sensors employed to track items from the scanner to the bagging area prove utterly ineffective. Moreover, when a problem arises and the machine locks you out until an employee intervenes, you may find yourself waiting while said employee resolves the issues of two other customers before attending to you. One can't help but wonder why these issues occurred in the first place? 🤔 🤔 🤔 (This incident took place on a Tuesday at 1pm, far from peak/busy hours). Walmart must conduct proper testing, troubleshoot diligently, and swiftly address these problems so that these automated checkout machines can offer at least a tolerable user experience. We, as your patrons, are here to make purchases, not serve as test subjects for new machines and technologies that your company has struggled to implement effectively.

A member of the staff ridiculed my sister during our visit. My sister was searching for a 'tabo or dipper,' and when she left, the staff member started mocking her, questioning why she still uses that item and so on. She didn't realize I was listening, and the person she was making fun of happened to be my sister. I am not pleased with this behavior and find it highly offensive, especially since she is also Filipino like us. I hope the manager addresses this issue promptly.

Top spot in town to get whipping cream, Astro Yogurt, mushrooms, and motor oil. The aisles are wider than most places, so there's less temptation to purchase unnecessary items. You get a good stroll but can zip through and swiftly complete your shopping.
