Exploring Metro Plouffe in Bedford, Quebec

Metro Plouffe is a well-known supermarket located in the heart of Bedford, Quebec. Despite its reputation, customer experiences vary widely. Here’s an overview of what to expect when visiting this establishment.

Accessibility Features

Metro Plouffe provides a wheelchair-accessible entrance and has designated wheelchair-accessible parking spaces. This ensures that all customers, regardless of mobility challenges, can access the store comfortably.

Food Offerings

The supermarket offers a range of products, including great produce and prepared foods. However, customer reviews suggest that while the selection may be good, the quality can sometimes fall short. Shoppers have reported finding vegetables that are not fresh, with instances of moldy or rotten items in the produce section. Despite this, many appreciate the store's clean and organized layout.

Service Options

### In-Store Pick-Up and Delivery For added convenience, Metro Plouffe offers in-store pick-up and delivery services, which can be particularly beneficial for busy shoppers. However, customers have noted that the delivery service is nearly non-existent, which could pose a problem for those relying on it. ### Payment Methods Customers can make payments using cash, debit cards, and credit cards. While the store accommodates various payment options, some shoppers express frustration over high prices, indicating that they often feel the need to seek more affordable alternatives in neighboring towns.

Organic Products and Recycling Initiatives

While some customers express a desire for more organic products, the store does provide options for eco-conscious shoppers. Additionally, the supermarket participates in recycling initiatives, promoting environmentally friendly practices.

Customer Experience Highlights

Metro Plouffe is known for having a mixed customer service experience. Some patrons commend the staff for being friendly and helpful, particularly in the meat department. However, others report feeling unwelcome, noting a lack of smiles and engagement from employees. Despite the challenges highlighted by locals, many agree that the supermarket serves as a vital resource for the community, offering a reasonable variety of products for essential needs.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, while Metro Plouffe in Bedford, Quebec, has its highlights, it also faces significant criticism from its customer base. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick visit or seeking specific products, it's crucial to manage your expectations regarding price and customer service. I used to frequent this establishment regularly, but alas, it has fallen short. I shall only return as a last resort, as the customer service was quite disappointing.
Raymond Mitchell (2025-06-07, 7:43 a.m.):
Lovely little shop. Impeccably tidy.
Jeremy Richardson (2025-06-06, 2:51 p.m.):
Lovely spot, a breeze to browse and pay for your items.
Allison Hill (2025-06-05, 12:04 p.m.):
We found exactly what we were looking for. The staff inside was very friendly.
Patrick Flores (2025-06-05, 9:11 a.m.):
Outstanding butcher's department, top-notch meats, impeccable presentation, and incredibly helpful butchers. Well done...!!!
Paul Parker (2025-06-01, 9:37 p.m.):
The selection here is quite disappointing, I must say. The prices for produce are simply outrageous, and the quality leaves much to be desired.
Ava Ford (2025-06-01, 2:18 p.m.):
The issue with this particular supermarket lies in the lack of competition. It stands as the sole grocery store in our town, despite its high prices and the rather audacious behavior of its managers and staff, who seem disinclined to make any changes. Our options are quite limited, leaving us with little choice but to patronize this establishment. Rumor has it that the proprietor is staunchly against any potential rivals entering the scene. A competing chain like IGA would certainly shake things up.

For now, we make the trek to Cowansville or St-Jean for our major shopping trips. However, when we find ourselves in need of a few items at short notice, I make a detour to the Axep side of Notre-Dame where the employees and butchers are notably more amiable.
Roger Williams (2025-05-29, 7:20 a.m.):
The staff here are absolutely brilliant, so polite and friendly, and really helped me out in locating everything I was looking for.
Teresa Kim (2025-05-29, 3:39 a.m.):
Three parking spaces reserved for disabled customers. Conveniently located just 50 steps away from an SAQ branch. It's worth noting that prices may be higher on certain items compared to those in Montreal, due to the village's limited options and the supermarket being the sole grocery store in the area.
Larry Kim (2025-05-27, 10:18 p.m.):
Fantastic! This blog on Supermarkets is absolutely smashing, I must say. Top-notch content and really spot-on information. Keep up the brilliant work!
Sharon Patterson (2025-05-27, 1:57 a.m.):
During my initial visit, I must admit I was slightly taken aback by the layout of the aisles and counters. Prices are reasonable given the current inflation rates. The staff at the checkouts were polite, and I appreciated the option to test out the self-service checkouts. However, I believe I would rather go back to Metro Corriveau in Napierville, where I've been shopping for about 20 years, or to Richelieu market in Venise-en-Québec, just a 5-minute stroll from my house.
Ryan Jones (2025-05-27, 12:42 a.m.):
The meat quality is dreadful. Do check the expiration date on all items.
Victoria Clark (2025-05-25, 8:15 p.m.):
I must say, the prices at Super C are simply outrageous! It defies all logic for a supposed convenience store. I find it quite unbelievable.
Evelyn Stewart (2025-05-22, 6:19 a.m.):
I wasn't impressed with this establishment, the employees were rather unfriendly and appeared to be inconvenienced by customers. I would recommend visiting Farnham instead, as it offers a superior experience.
Sarah Gomez (2025-05-20, 9:49 p.m.):
Just popped to the store to pick up some provisions for luncheon.
Ann Gutierrez (2025-05-16, 6:48 p.m.):
Tidy, well-arranged, fully stocked with lovely fresh produce!
