PJC Jean Coutu in Bois-des-Filion, Quebec: A Pharmacy Review

PJC Jean Coutu is a well-known pharmacy located in Bois-des-Filion, Quebec, offering various services and products to the community. While the pharmacy aims to provide essential healthcare products and services, customer reviews suggest there are several areas needing improvement.

Customer Experience Issues

Many customers have reported long wait times at PJC Jean Coutu, even when prescriptions are ordered in advance. For instance, one customer mentioned waiting over an hour with their 10-month-old baby for a prescription that should have been ready. Such delays are concerning, particularly for those who rely on timely medication. Moreover, issues have arisen regarding inaccurate information about store hours. Customers expressed frustration upon arriving late in the evening only to find the pharmacy closed earlier than advertised. This inconsistency can create unnecessary inconveniences for those needing urgent medications.

In-Store Services

PJC Jean Coutu provides various service options, including in-store shopping and the convenience of in-store pick-up for online orders. However, despite these offerings, many customers have found the execution lacking. Delivery services are also available but have received mixed feedback regarding timeliness and reliability. For those requiring passport photos, the pharmacy offers this service, although experiences have varied from satisfactory to disappointing. One customer reported receiving unsatisfactory passport photos and faced challenges while seeking a refund.

Accessibility Features

The pharmacy does offer a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, ensuring it is open to all individuals. Despite the physical accessibility, the customer service experience appears to hinder the overall visit, as many patrons reported feeling neglected or unvalued during their time at the pharmacy.

Payment Options

PJC Jean Coutu accommodates various payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. However, some customers have noted discrepancies in billing, such as being charged for medications that were not correctly processed, leading to further dissatisfaction.

Conclusion

While PJC Jean Coutu in Bois-des-Filion has the potential to be a reliable pharmacy, the overwhelming feedback suggests a need for improvement in planning, staffing, and overall customer service. Many loyal customers express their desire for a better experience, highlighting the necessity for management to address these long-standing issues effectively. As it stands, patrons may want to consider alternative pharmacies if they seek prompt and efficient pharmaceutical care.

I had a terribly disappointing experience with the customer service at this pharmacy.
Evelyn Gonzalez (2025-06-15, 7:27 p.m.):
Absolutely dreadful experience at this Jean Coutu when it comes to prescriptions. Every time I visit, I find myself waiting for what seems like an eternity just to pick up my medication (I've even waited 30 minutes on one occasion). And don't get me started on calling ahead to have my prescription prepared – on multiple occasions, I've been told it'll be ready in 4 hours only to find out it's still not available! To top it off, they've failed to have my prescription in stock four times now despite knowing I require it regularly. It's gotten to the point where I have to make the trek to a Jean Coutu that's 20 minutes away from my place just to receive decent service and access to my medication, when there's one just 4 minutes away. Enough is enough – I'll stick with the longer journey, it's well worth it!
Thomas Martin (2025-06-14, 1:24 a.m.):
I must say, the service at the pharmacy is simply atrocious. The waiting seems interminable, even with just a couple of customers in sight, and the lack of organization is truly mind-boggling. Spare me your automated responses, and make a genuine effort to enhance your services, if you please.
Shirley Kim (2025-06-11, 4:02 p.m.):
It's quite unfortunate, really. This pharmacy used to be top-notch a couple of years back. However, the waiting times now seem to stretch on indefinitely, and attempting to get anything sorted out in the lab via phone has become a near-impossible task. I ultimately opted to switch to a different pharmacy altogether.
Andrew Allen (2025-06-11, 10:41 a.m.):
The prescription counter is very disorganized. I always order my medications in advance, but they are never ready at the scheduled time on their app.
Karen Russell (2025-06-10, 6:52 a.m.):
The pharmacy clearly needs a more efficient process in place. It's quite frustrating to constantly go back and forth between the "give" and "receive" counters, leading to unnecessary waiting in lines. For example, I recently placed an order for my medications online. I went directly to the "receive" counter and presented the original prescription, as I had already sent a picture through the online app. However, I was then redirected to the "give" counter for prescription scanning, only to find myself waiting behind 5 other people in line. It's absurd! Ordering online was supposed to help me avoid such delays. The current process is flawed and ineffective.
Steven Morgan (2025-06-09, 11:25 a.m.):
My previous pharmacy was friendly and efficient. I've been at BDF for a year now, and what a difference! They put you on hold and when it's finally your turn, they place you back in line as if they don't value their customers. I'm switching pharmacies - Bravo to PJC BDF. I returned to PJC Ste-Therese, and I was impressed! I only waited 5 minutes on the phone, and my medications will be ready in 4 hours. (Identify the error).
Bradley Walker (2025-06-08, 2:44 p.m.):
I gotta say, mate, all the comments you're reading are spot on. The queue at the Canada Post counter is absolutely dreadful! Doesn't the bloke behind the counter care that there are 10 people waiting? The snail's pace service is shocking, as if they couldn't be bothered. And to top it off, there are 4 lasses up front, not doing much, just gossiping about their weekend.

Update the next day: I give it another go, and after waiting for 10 minutes at Canada Post (same cashier as before), they have the cheek to tell me that the return machine for Amazon ain't working. They suggest I print the label at the photo department instead. So off I go to the photo department, wait another 10 minutes, and after 3 calls on the intercom (standard procedure at this Jean Coutu), they have the audacity to tell me I gotta pay to print the label like it's some fancy photo... :0
Ella Miller (2025-06-05, 2:45 a.m.):
I come to pick up my prescription, and I always ensure it's the correct one after a mix-up last time where I was given someone else's medication despite being assured it was mine. The ingredients were clearly wrong. This time, I got the right product, but the quantity was off, and they still claimed it was a good deal. It's frustrating! I've had enough. I'm switching pharmacies. The lack of professionalism here is astounding, and they're too dismissive of their mistakes. I'll definitely be filing a complaint about this.
Janet White (2025-06-04, 2:27 a.m.):
Great service, tidy store, wide range of typical J-Coutu products along with toys and clothing.
Emily Ford (2025-06-02, 7:19 a.m.):
I had an absolutely dreadful experience at the Pharmacy, particularly at the Post Canada counter. The staff were disrespectful, rude, and clearly lacked proper training. Their service was extremely condescending and unhelpful. Even the manager was of little assistance. It was disappointing to receive such poor service with no English option available, making the experience feel discriminatory.
Bryan Green (2025-06-01, 4:44 a.m.):
Absolutely dreadful service, always moaning about being swamped, even when you ring them up, employ more staff if you're that inundated, it's not the customers' concern, waited a full hour to pick up my prescription despite calling ahead the day before. Blatantly fibbing about not receiving the faxed prescription when they're simply dragging their heels. It's a complete joke; I've transferred my records elsewhere and won't be returning, that's for certain.
Aaron Lewis (2025-05-31, 6:47 p.m.):
Terrible experience! We arrived at 1pm to pick up my daughter's medication on a Sunday, they advised us to return at 4pm. I complied and it's now past 4:30, still waiting.... The pharmacy closes at 6pm, seriously, 6pm closing time for a pharmacy, Jean Coutu needs to step up their game. The community relies on them. Closing early and consistently setting unrealistic expectations is unacceptable. I understand it's busy but they should consider hiring more staff. With their significant profits, they should be more willing to invest in customer service. The numerous 1-star reviews speak for themselves, it's truly disappointing.
Ethan Anderson (2025-05-31, 6:05 p.m.):
I must say, the customer service experience I recently had was quite disappointing, if I may say so myself. Residing in Bois-des-Filion for a good four years now, I can't help but feel disheartened by the consistently lackluster service received, especially when it comes to waiting for prescriptions or checking out at the front counter.
It truly is regrettable that I find myself having to seek services elsewhere, despite the fact that a pharmacy conveniently located less than 500m from my residence.
