Shoppers Drug Mart in Antigonish is more than just a pharmacy; it's a hub for planning and accessing various services that cater to the community. This article highlights the vital elements of this store, focusing on customer experiences and the range of services offered.

Service Options and On-Site Services

The store provides an array of on-site services that enhance customer convenience. From prescription filling to walk-in consultations, Shoppers Drug Mart aims to meet diverse health needs. However, reviews indicate mixed feelings about the pharmacy staff's efficiency. While some customers praise the helpfulness of staff like Jennifer and Pauline, others express frustration over long wait times for prescriptions that are not ready when promised.

Payments: A Modern Approach

In the age of digital transactions, Shoppers Drug Mart in Antigonish offers various payment options. Customers can utilize credit cards, debit cards, and even NFC mobile payments for a seamless checkout experience. Nonetheless, many patrons prefer traditional cashiers over self-checkout options as they believe personal interaction enhances service quality.

Accessibility: A Key Consideration

Accessibility is a crucial aspect of Shoppers Drug Mart. The store features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, along with a wheelchair-accessible car park to accommodate all customers. Additionally, there is a wheelchair-accessible toilet, ensuring comfort for those with mobility challenges. However, some customers have noted that more staff presence would significantly improve the overall shopping experience, especially during peak hours.

Customer Experiences: The Good and the Bad

While many reviews highlight excellent customer service and knowledgeable staff, others have encountered issues like unprofessional behavior from pharmacy technicians and inadequate staffing levels. Instances of rude communication and lack of proper training were shared by disappointed customers, indicating a need for improvement in staff interactions.

A Quick Visit: Convenience or Compromise?

For those seeking a quick visit, Shoppers Drug Mart provides a convenient stop for numerous products, including groceries and electronics. However, customers often find themselves facing long lines and wait times, which detracts from the convenience they seek. The balance between self-checkouts and manned registers remains a point of contention among regulars.

Final Thoughts

I say, old chap, would you believe I was just put on hold with the pharmacy for a good half hour whilst attempting to inquire about the medication they provided me? Quite the bothersome experience, I must say.
William Cooper (2025-06-14, 4:28 p.m.):
The pharmacy team is absolutely lovely!
Bobby Jenkins (2025-06-13, 10:37 p.m.):
This pharmacy is just awful, I tell you! They never seem to have your prescription ready on time, ever! They always claim it'll be ready in 5 minutes, but when you return, it's still not sorted and they only start preparing it right then and there. What really grinds my gears is hearing the pharmacist speak in another language (I believe it's Arabic) in front of customers – not very polite, is it, chaps?
Heather Cox (2025-06-10, 1:01 p.m.):
I do declare, if only I could bestow upon thee a rating of naught!
James Carter (2025-06-09, 3:25 p.m.):
"Forever rated poorly for a transaction at the pharmacy. It was as if I was a nuisance to them."
Tyler Morgan (2025-06-09, 12:04 a.m.):
This establishment is quite superb, let me tell you that. However, with the introduction of these new self-checkout systems, they require a minimum usage quota of 40%. Consequently, there are fewer traditional checkouts open for service. It seems to be a common trend across various industries, be it banks, supermarkets, and the like. Speaking personally, I prefer not to utilize the self-checkout option as it results in job displacement for many individuals. The heavy reliance on debit or credit transactions is becoming a bit overwhelming, and let's face it, the system is far from flawless.

I recently had a wonderful experience at Shoppers. Despite not using makeup for years, I found myself in need of some for a wedding. Upon stopping at Shoppers, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional customer service provided by Pauline. She was incredibly kind and helped me locate the perfect products for my needs.
Billy Turner (2025-05-28, 8:52 a.m.):
The friendliest and most helpful pharmacy staff I have ever come across. I would go to great lengths to have such attentive and considerate people back home.
Thomas Gonzalez (2025-05-27, 8:21 p.m.):
The folks at the pharmacy are truly top-notch in knowledge and assistance. And I must say, the rest of the store team are quite friendly and always ready to lend a hand as well.
Megan Reed (2025-05-27, 4:48 p.m.):
The bloke manning the till at the chemist was a right friendly chap, even when folks were getting a bit shirty with him.
Roger Gomez (2025-05-27, 12:52 a.m.):
After a quick chat on the phone with one of the big bosses, I could really feel the heart of the business in the voice of a long-serving Shoppers employee. I'm heading over there soon and I'm sure my visit will be top-notch, with those floors shining brighter than ever, creating such a welcoming vibe. The team there are always ready to lend a hand, showing care and compassion without going overboard. I highly recommend everyone swings by this fantastic pharmacy, where they don't just look after our health needs but also offer a great range of products. Every now and then, a customer might have a rough day and misinterpret an interaction with a cashier, tech, or pharmacist, which can lead to a negative experience. It happens, but hopefully they realize it was just a blip and come back for a pick-me-up visit where they'll walk in feeling down and leave feeling uplifted. That's why Shoppers in Antigonish is my go-to spot – swing by and see for yourself, don't just take my word for it! -Joanie B Good
Lucy Cooper (2025-05-26, 12:59 p.m.):
I was absolutely gobsmacked by the outstanding service from the staff! I'll definitely be transferring my prescriptions to this pharmacy!! Super friendly and knowledgeable Jennifer!!
Frank Gonzalez (2025-05-26, 4:14 a.m.):
48 hour refills? Try 96. At the least.

They deceitfully claim that their refills will be ready in 48 hours on the labels and through their automated refill system, but it consistently ends up taking 2-3 times longer.
Kathleen Campbell (2025-05-25, 11:20 p.m.):
Extremely helpful in assisting me when I switched over to their services.
Mia Watson (2025-05-25, 8:11 a.m.):
Short on staff, dreadful service. I had my heart set on purchasing a video game as a present, yet the lone employee was tied up at the register. They glanced over and spotted me patiently waiting, yet chose to disregard me. After a 10-minute wait, I inquired if there was assistance available, only to be instructed to join the queue. If you lack sufficient personnel to offer accessible products that are under lock and key, what's the rationale behind merchandising items that necessitate secure storage?
Carol Rodriguez (2025-05-23, 6:06 a.m.):
My local pharmacy. Always there for me and my kin.
Bobby Gutierrez (2025-05-23, 5:16 a.m.):
This pharmacy is absolutely brilliant! The store is so convenient and the staff are incredibly friendly.
Stephanie Rodriguez (2025-05-22, 2:50 p.m.):
This used to be me top choice pharmacy, mate, but ever since the owner switched over, it's been on a rapid downward spiral. It's now the dodgiest pharmacy in the whole town, I tell ya. They never have yer prescription ready, always dragging their feet when it comes to serving you. Best steer clear, if you ask me.
Robert Collins (2025-05-16, 4:47 a.m.):
I had a dreadful experience at this pharmacy in Canada! Today, I bought a Samsung Tab S7 there and upon opening it, discovered it was faulty. Within an hour, I attempted to exchange it for another one with the receipt but was informed it was a final sale and that I made a mistake in buying it. The sales team was rude and attempted to intimidate me.
Lauren Johnson (2025-05-12, 2:51 a.m.):
Short on staff and prices through the roof. You can snag the same items for nearly half the cost over at Atlantic Superstore. And don't get me started on their pharmacy - the slowest service in town, I tell ya.
