Customer Experiences: A Mixed Review

Customer feedback often reflects the challenges faced in obtaining assistance. Many have expressed concerns regarding staff knowledge, noting instances where employees seemed unaware of stock availability or product specifications. One customer mentioned their disappointment when staff directed them to check the website instead of providing in-person assistance. Despite these issues, there have been praises for individuals like Shamin and Tien from the Geek Squad, who were recognized for their excellent customer service and patience. This highlights that while experiences may vary, dedicated staff members can still provide quality assistance.

Planning Your Quick Visit

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, Best Buy in Charlottetown remains a vital resource for electronics, featuring diverse offerings, convenient payment options, and accessibility features. My dear wife arrived with my laptop computer to have the keyboard cleaned by the Geek Squad. She was about an hour early (10 a.m.) before they opened at 11 a.m. Lo and behold, the manager was on site, and he flat out refused to accept the laptop or even let her leave it with the Geek Squad. We live an hour away, so she was hoping he might show some leniency, but alas, he was not in the mood for making exceptions. She relayed to me that he came across as quite arrogant, rude, and even went as far as telling her to take her business elsewhere if she wasn't satisfied. Well, rest assured, we shall. All of our business! Over the past 3 to 4 years, we've made various purchases from them, including 2 laptops, a TV, a TV stand, and a mobile phone. When we're parting with our hard-earned cash at Best Buy, everyone is pleasant and helpful. One would think the bloomin' manager could have a bit more consideration for the customers. That's the final straw for us with Best Buy.

My good lady carried my portable computing machine to 'ave the keyboard cleaned by the Geek Squad. She arrived an hour early (10 a.m.) afore they opened at 11 a.m. The manager was present, and he refused to accept it or leave it with the Geek Squad. We reside an hour's journey away, so she reckoned he might show some leniency. But alas, he was not able to make that concession. She informed me he was haughty, discourteous, and informed her that if she was disenchanted, she could take her custom elsewhere. Naturally, we shall. All of our custom! Over the previous 3 to 4 years, we've procured 2 portable computing machines from them, a goggle box, a goggle box stand, and a mobile telephone. When we're parting with our money at Best Buy, everyone is amiable and obliging. One would think the SOB manager could be more attentive to customers. That's the final bout of shopping we'll engage in at Best Buy.

I would give it no stars if I could. I bought an LG Direct Drive washing machine and an LG Sensor Dry dryer in December 2020. The washing machine just doesn't do the job properly, it lacks an agitator (which I was told is the best), and regardless of which settings I choose, the water never fully covers the clothes. IT SIMPLY WILL NOT GET THE CLOTHES CLEAN.

The personnel here seems to lack sufficient expertise, and the store's inventory is quite sparse. I was actually urged to place an order online while physically inside the store.
Linda Kim (2025-08-07, 11:13 p.m.):
The prices are quite reasonable and the store is tidy and well-maintained. However, a few of the employees were a tad peculiar and seemed to be shadowing me and my mates as we checked out the merchandise.
Anna Torres (2025-08-07, 8:59 a.m.):
The staff's knowledge is quite limited and the store's stock is equally as limited. I was actually asked to place an order online while inside the store.
Jonathan Torres (2025-08-04, 10:54 a.m.):
Quick and efficient. No air conditioning in the shop so decided to order online. Delivery right to my door as soon as possible. They'll give me a call. No stress for me. Got $100 off as well.
Brandon Miller (2025-08-03, 3:20 a.m.):
The customer service experience is a complete shambles. I couldn't even ring the shop to inquire about a pre-order. The chap on the outsourced 1-800 number can "request" a callback, which I'm still waiting for 3 hours later.

You can find everything you need at Staples, the Source, the Brick, or WalMart, and when WalMart is your best bet... oh dear.

I purchased a tablet that I was assured was in good condition, but it turns out the tablet was actually locked with the previous owner's Google account. To make matters worse, the alarm started blaring because a sales representative accidentally set it off, while the rest of the staff just watched without taking action. The only assistance I received was from a trainee on the team.

I purchaseth a camcorder and hath a hard timeth trying to figure t out. I took t back to the shop and Akash from the Geek squad did explain t to me in terms I could understand. He also brought out a chair so I could sit down, (I has't a cast on f'r a broken bone in mine foot) this wast extremely kind of him. Akash is a real asset to best buy, I shall not hesitate to returneth to best buy and buyeth oth'r items I need. With kind people liketh Akash why would I go anywhere else? Thanketh thee Akash!

In September, I purchased an Xbox controller from the Best Buy store in Charlottetown, along with a 2-year warranty. About a month later, I noticed an issue with the controller, so I tried to exchange it for a new one at the store. However, I was told that I could only send it in by mail for a replacement, and that it would take over a month to receive the new controller. Even though I had bought the warranty, it is frustrating to have to wait so long for a replacement when the controller was faulty from the start.
Hannah Patterson (2025-07-27, 3:56 p.m.):
I shall never frequent Best Buy again, for Amazon's prowess in honoring product warranties surpasses theirs by a great margin. I visited Best Buy last week to seek warranty coverage for a defective product that was still within its 1-year warranty period and less than 6 months old. Instead of assistance, I was met with rudeness from a service representative who bluntly instructed me to reach out to the manufacturer directly, offering no guidance on how to do so beyond a vague suggestion of "online." My visit turned out to be a complete waste of time. If given the chance, I would rate this company a 0. Best Buy, you have just lost another customer to Amazon! It is high time you wake up before you find yourself going out of business.
Karen Bailey (2025-07-24, 8:33 a.m.):
James, a trainee, absolutely smashed it in aiding us to choose a cell phone and a phone package that was top-notch compared to the last one we had. He also helped with transferring our information. He was incredibly professional and delightful to work with.
Leonard Jones (2025-07-23, 9:04 a.m.):
The staff 'ere are rather useless and the product selection 'as taken a turn towards mobile phones. 'alf the store be filled with posh ear buds. Best o' luck finding 'ome or car audio components and accessories, mate.
Betty Cook (2025-07-20, 12:19 a.m.):
The most ridiculous thing I've ever come across.. Crikey! I can't ring the shop because they're only open for walk-ins, righto! If I want a chat with a real person, I've got to make the trek there, despite living a fair hike away.. it's 2024 for goodness' sake and I can't even pick up the blower to call a shop??? Embrace the digital age, mates.. this is the future landscape for us all, mark my words.
Justin Williams (2025-07-17, 8:37 a.m.):
Two blokes were assisting me in finding a noon VR headset and one of them mentioned that the shop was out of stock. But Farod knew exactly where to find it! I was grateful for his assistance!

I say, two years back, we did purchase a splendid shark robot from the best buy in Charlottetown, and we also procured a seven-year warranty for an additional $100. Presently, the robot seems to have run into a spot of bother as it's not charging up as it ought. Placing our trust in the warranty we obtained, we trotted back to the store in hopes of exchanging it for a fresh one. Alas, we were informed that a replacement was out of the question since the cost of a newfangled robot surpassed the value of our dear, old one. Instead, they proposed furnishing us with a gift card which we could employ to purchase a newer model of the shark robot priced at a rather steep $600. One must say, rather disappointing service, wouldn't you agree?
Jeremy Morales (2025-07-11, 3:45 a.m.):
Absolutely no customer service whatsoever. It appears as though the staff are trained to steer clear of customers, and if you do happen to ask them a question, they won't have the answer and will be quite rude to you.
Kathryn Collins (2025-07-07, 9:43 a.m.):
Well, it's alright. At times you have to track down the staff. They don't appear too invested in their work - as if you're inconveniencing them by seeking assistance. Not fantastic, not terrible.
Melissa Miller (2025-07-06, 10:07 p.m.):
This establishment appears to be quite the spot for those who fancy a bit of loafing about and aren't overly concerned with assisting others. Customer service leaves much to be desired, with numerous staff members idly chit-chatting amongst themselves and neglecting patrons.
