While we were driving north on the QE2, a large piece of firewood got kicked up by a truck ahead of us. With no way to avoid it, the wood ended up underneath the car and hit the front driver's side wheel. We managed to make it to Blackfalds with a flat tire. After asking around for a nearby shop, we stumbled upon Granden Auto through some internet searching.
Alvin was so kind to remove the damaged wheel and replace it with the spare tire, all without charging us a penny! Thanks to his help, we were able to continue our journey and enjoy the rest of our day.

I had an experience with Granden Auto that I'd like to share. I brought in my 2014 Jeep Compass to have the steering replaced. When I called to book the appointment, the owner quoted me $360 for the steering rack, approximately 4 hours of labor, and a wheel alignment. However, when I went to pick up my car, the price had increased to $542.
I decided to do some research and found lower prices for the steering rack at Auto Value and Part Sources. I informed the owner about these prices, but he insisted that his supplier had the best rates. We called Auto Value together, and they confirmed that the price was indeed lower than what I was charged at Granden Auto.
We eventually agreed on $360 for the steering rack, but when I received my next invoice, I noticed that the price had been bumped up to $368.36, not the original $360 we had settled on. Additionally, the shop hours had been increased by an extra half hour. When I questioned the owner about these changes, he claimed that additional work was needed due to rusty bolts on my car, which I found suspicious since my car is regularly kept in a heated garage and doesn't show signs of rust.
I believe in supporting local businesses, but after this experience, I have decided not to return to Granden Auto.

This was me first time 'ere. I booked an appointment one week ahead. It was a simple job, just replacin' the bolt on the block heater. They also looked at the swing bars and front struts while it was up on the hoist. When I collected me vehicle, I asked 'em about the swing bars and struts. They told me it was me job to remind 'em. I reminded 'em that they had written it down. I decided to check their work on the block heater. They hadn't put back the housin' on the old block heater cord and they didn't secure the cord, which was danglin' and could 'ave gotten caught in the pulleys and belt! So I went back in to share me concerns. They then proceeded to forcefully remove the housin' from the old cord right in front o' me, breakin' it into four pieces. They sent a young lad out with me to look at the cord. I showed him the issue, but all 'e did was lie to me. Bein' me first time there, I came to the conclusion that the folks in charge don't bother to check the work of their apprentices. The apprentice didn't seem to care much, and whoever oversees the staff mustn't be in need of any more business. It was the first and last time I'll be goin' there!!!!
