Ronald Barnes (2025-05-29, 5:33 p.m.):
I 'ad the pleasure of takin' the Tour du Canada in 2023. Dunno why them riders from 2022 be grumblin' 'ere, but let me tell ya, our experience were nothin' like what they be describin'. The tour were well-organized and well-executed by Bud and Margot. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip, we had good grub, and we fancied the campsites. One thing to keep in mind is that this 'ere be a budget trip -- ya ain't spendin' nights in fancy hotels, and ya gotta prepare yer own meals (though the van driver picks up the vittles daily). But there be menus with simple recipes, all sorted out by the day, and the maps each day give a clear description of the route. True, there be hiccups along the way, and not every campsite be fit for a king (especially as we pass through some sparsely populated areas), but it were always decent to great. Cheers for a splendid eyeful o' Canada, and a jolly good time!

In 2022, the best part of this experience was the connections and friendships we formed. Despite the less than stellar conditions provided by operators Bud and Margo, we all banded together. If you don't mind having your food locked up, dealing with faulty equipment such as a fridge and coffee maker that often didn't work, an electrical system that kept tripping in the trailer, a filthy pantry, and unsanitary campsites (like White Lake and Taylor's outside Dryden where the water isn't potable), and only being able to purchase food at wholesale prices, then go ahead and sign up for 2023.

The operator was not very welcoming at all. In Kenora, we faced a severe rainstorm with flooding and road washouts. Bud showed up in town in the afternoon, and after waiting around for two hours with only 5 out of 16 riders accounted for, he got up from his table without checking if everyone was okay and went to bed.

There were numerous instances where the owners' interests were prioritized over the safety and well-being of the riders. It's high time that people are fully informed about what this operation truly entails. Contact any of the riders from 2022 for honest feedback—every single one of us can't be mistaken. Seriously consider exploring other tour options that may be available to you.

Properly arranged, budget-friendly, and enjoyable bicycle excursions!
Ralph Alexander (2025-03-31, 1:29 a.m.):
I must say, I was terribly disappointed with the 2022 Tour du Canada, especially with the Bud organizer. It is absolutely unacceptable to leave a sick rider with Covid behind at a campground. There were countless other grievances that I simply cannot list them all. I have been on numerous fantastic cycling trips with different organizations, but this one fell short of expectations.
Bobby Thompson (2025-03-30, 6:44 a.m.):
I took part in the Tour du Canada 2022. I was extremely dissatisfied with Bud the organizer and with Tour du Canada overall. The campgrounds that were chosen for the tour were below standard. Many were unclean, had very limited shower facilities, or none at all. In some campgrounds, the water was not safe to drink. The washing-up areas that Bud provided to clean cooking utensils were revolting. It was common for participants of the tour to experience digestive problems as a result. Tour du Canada skimped on food, often restricting portions and buying insufficient amounts of food for the riders. He frequently opted for the cheapest food available. The refrigerator often didn't function properly, leading to food safety concerns. The tour organizer displayed disrespect towards the riders and was frequently unwelcoming. His route instructions frequently contained errors. In the prairies where finding water was crucial, his route guidance failed to mention water availability. I would not recommend Tour du Canada as an option. It's better to embark on a self-supported journey with a companion. I completed the entire route, but that was despite Tour du Canada. If I could rate it less than 1 star, I would give a negative rating.
