Whenever me and me kids get the chance, we pop by this book shop. The bloke at the counter is a real expert and can fetch in any book they mightn't have in stock. It's that personal touch that sets this place apart from the rest. I'd definitely give it a thumbs up. Every Christmas, I make sure to grab a gift voucher for each of me little ones, and they're always chuffed to bits about it come the festive season.

Caution - upon entering this charming establishment, my gaze fell upon a collection of right-wing “publications”, positioned at a level that even my ten-year-old could peruse. While I am a firm believer in the principles of free speech, I find it disheartening to encounter unsubstantiated theories and deluded musings disguised as news. Despite the allure of a serene Saturday in July, the sight of such material at the entrance prompted me to discreetly stow away my Visa card in favor of seeking out an alternative store where archaic ideologies are relegated to the realms of “history” or “fantasy”.

It is astonishing to me that the proprietor of a book store would opt to showcase such lunacy as a prominent fixture upon opening the door. If the intent is to encompass a spectrum of viewpoints, perhaps relegating such content under a designated category like “politics” would be more appropriate. It is distressing to witness the promotion of this questionable publication, which veers dangerously into the territory of right-wing hate speech.

Although the shop itself appeared quaint and well-stocked, I was taken aback by the lack of acknowledgement from the individual tending to the premises towards my family and me. One can only speculate whether our appearance may have deemed us too “liberal” for a simple greeting. Regrettably, we have opted to take our business elsewhere this summer. With any luck, upon our next visit to Bancroft, this establishment will have reconsidered their decision to prominently display polarizing political literature at their entrance.
